The need of the hour for the Indian government is to develop core skills in cybersecurity, data integrity and data security fields while also setting stringent cybersecurity standards to protect banks and financial institutions.
The government has been tackling a number of cybersecurity challenges that had a strong impact on the digital platform. The major challenge remains the crimes related to the cyber world in India. India remains vulnerable to digital intrusions such as cyber-espionage, cybercrime, digital disruption and DoS. On the same course, cyberterrorism has posed an immense challenge. Most of the banks have gone on full-scale modernization and digitization; bringing the concepts of e-commerce and e-banking. The stock market has also not remained in the immune state. Lack of awareness and the culture of cybersecurity at the individual as well as the institutional levelis hence highly essential.
Having said so, every one using a mobile phones to computers are under threat and as digitilisation spreads and used more and more , problems related to cyber / digital security will only grow.

Also since these companies are spread across the world , they are always in a better situation to get aware about the threats and inform the users about the same at the same time creating prevention tools. At the same time hackers too need to prove their worth and they in turn keep tabs on various vulnerability and loop holes popular software’s might have and try to sneak or attack thru the same. With so many people using mobiles to laptops, tab, there is always need for applications, tools and even games. And it becomes easier for viruses, hackers , malware to get in the device and create issues which could result in damage of data or financial loss.
Zakir Hussain, Director, BD soft, Country Partner of Bitdefender had have an exclusive interaction with ITNewsBuzz team recently. He said, “The digital world offers endless opportunities. But very recently, since a matter of a year, hacking scandals and cyber-threats have once again emphasized on digital security. Hackers assess the system and hunt for vulnerabilities that are the easiest way to infiltrate into a system, leading to cybersecurity. Hackers are always one step ahead, and the major reason for this is the less importance given to updating and upgrading the systems.”
Usually, people do use the same passwords for all their internet-required apps. If your response is yes, as well, you must know that online security has become better as websites demand a frequent change of your passwords. In today’s amassing digital world, consumers overshare their private information. But every time a person shares its location answers an online quiz, or talks about their personal life, somewhere they are leveraging the hackers with clues to guess what the passwords could be. Complicated passwords are important because different password comprised of different numbers and characters. Agreed, it can be easy to forget then make a list of passwords on different pieces of paper and store them in a secure place using the coded information to ensure only you know which is which.
Save your important documents, banking information and treasured data in as many ways as you physically and virtually can. Create a back-up of your data and store it with a specified passcode that accesses all the files and data. Make sure that you also have different ways to log into your accounts, if one of the ways does not work effectively, there must be another way to direct your path into that. It may include your other email account to change the password or emergency contact through or mostly your personal questions that can give you an access to your accounts.
Giving his view on company’s channel strategy, Zakir Hussain’s, Director, BD soft, Country Partner of Bitdefender excerpted, “Channel management’s eventual purpose is to make possible the product, available in the most expandable region possible. And to cater the cyber systems across all the regions, we essentially and firstly manage ATL and BTL activities to bring awareness amongst the consumers. Additionally, by increasing our distributional management and setting up more distributional units, we plan to progress in unexplored regions as well. We believe, to expand our horizons, we need to stretch out to the horizons first. We follow multiple programs and sometime tailor made to suite a particular region channel partners. The strategy is to grow along with the partner. That’s the principle to work with any partner. Unless it is a win-win for both the parties, the agreement will not work much. At the same time it is better to define responsibility matrix with the partner so that there are no role conflict later as to who was supposed to do what and when. I feel the 2 rules above should be the foundation on which the relationship should be built.”
He further added, “Our channel is divided into Consumer and SI Category. We also work with selected partners from other IT categories who would have customers requiring our solutions. We give quarterly schemes to all our partners we have incentive programs for their sales and technical engineers and special recognition. We work on a percentage based pricing program to make sure there is good profit for the partner involved and they feel motivated to work with us more. Currently we work with more than 200 partners for corporate business and many more for our retail offerings.”
The business is divided into retail and corporate part. We have almost equal growth in both the segment. The retail is divided into online sales and offline sales via retail front stores or retail partners. It is going thru a sort of disruption since the online market place have come in and offers customers across every corner faster delivery and better pricing. The SMB & corporate are definitely growing and will continue as they increase their digital outlook and are getting serious about security solutions.
